Group G will begin with Switzerland playing Cameroon on Thursday, November 20.

Switzerland managed to edge out European champions Italy in qualifying for this year's tournament, while Cameroon beat Algeria on away goals to book their place in Qatar.

The five-time Africa Cup of Nations winners needed a 124th-minute goal from Karl Toko Ekambi after being on the verge of having their World Cup dream ended.

Both teams will be looking to get off to a fast start in a group that contains favourites Brazil, and Serbia, who possess an eye-catching frontline including Juventus' Dusan Vlahovic and Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic.

In their most recent tournament appearances, Switzerland made it to the quarter-finals of last year's Euros before going out to Spain on penalties, whereas Cameroon finished third at the latest edition of the Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year.

The game is now almost upon us, and Sportsmail has provided everything you need to know ahead of the Group G clash.

Switzerland vs Cameroon: Team news

Switzerland have five Premier League-based players in their 26-man squad, with Granit Xhaka the standout name.

The Arsenal midfielder has been in excellent form at club level this season, chipping in with three goals and three assists in the top flight while playing a slightly more advanced role.

Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo is the only Premier League representative in the Cameroon squad, but the African nation do have plenty of talent currently plying their trade across Europe.

Former Fulham midfielder Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa has helped Napoli move eight points clear at the top of Serie A, and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting has netted six Bundesliga goals for Bayern Munich in 2022-23.
