Kanye West’s words continue to cost him and others. Following a series of hateful remarks, the superstar entertainer and business mogul is watching his relationships and his net worth diminish in real-time. Just days after Adidas, Balenciaga, CAA, JP Morgan Chase, Universal Music Group and Def Jam Records have severed ties with Kanye, another entity with ties to West is apparently suffering consequences.

Donda Academy, Kanye West’s Simi Valley, California-based school has suddenly closed its doors amid the series of severed business and personal relationships surrounding ‘Ye. Donda, named after West’s late mother, reportedly charges $15,000 in tuition per year and educates students in Balenciaga-designed school uniforms. The school’s exact Southern California location has been kept private since inception. It is a faith-based institution with a reported 100 students at the school and 13 full-time teachers.

Kanye West Has Reportedly Lost More Than 75% Of His Net Worth In 2 Weeks

The Times reports, after viewing an October 26 email from Donda Academy principal Jason Angell, that the administrator notified parents, “at the discretion of our founder, Donda Academy will close for the remainder of the 2022-2023 school year effective immediately.” That immediacy was echoed in the additional quote that there would be no Thursday school session.

In the same email sent to parents and obtained by the UK newspaper, Angell said the school plans to “begin afresh in September of 2023.” It said: “Our leadership team will be working diligently to assist all families during this transition, ensuring that every scholar has what they need to succeed in their next community in a prompt and gracious manner.” The announcement reportedly ends, “We are confident that our scholars will continue to advance as the creative innovators, courageous influencers and academic leaders of the next generation.”

On Wednesday, after the Adidas fallout, Kanye West showed up without invitation at a competitor’s offices. Arriving at Skechers’ facility in Los Angeles, California, ‘Ye was reportedly escorted off of the premises with security. “Skechers is not considering and has no intention of working with West. We condemn his recent divisive remarks and do not tolerate antisemitism or any other form of hate speech,” the company said in a statement published at CNBC. “The company would like to again stress that West showed up unannounced and uninvited to Skechers corporate offices.”

This development follows several weeks where Kanye West has made racist and antisemitic comments on public platforms. The press run includes a recent episode of Drink Champs, which was subsequently removed by its publishers—not before prompting a lawsuit from the family of George Floyd over disparaging remarks surrounding Floyd’s murder. Other appearances, including one on Tucker Carlson Tonight and Piers Morgan Uncensored remain available to the public.
